Sarah HALE was born in Urchfont, near Devizes, Wiltshire on the 19th September 1872 and was the youngest of nine children of James and Sarah (Miles) HALE. The HALE and MILES families had been in Urchfont for many generations and were mainly Agricultural Labourers.
Sarah, who was in service in London, married Walter Crews Saunders at St. Clement's Church, Fulham, London on the 8th July 1894.
James HALE (born 1825) and Sarah MILES (born 1830) both in Urchfont were married there on the 21st February 1852 and they had the following children;-
